Tough Times

We always knew the day would come sooner or later, and it now has arrived. Anderson is fighting his first virus, resulting in a 104 degree fever and tiny dots all over his body (click photo). We started noticing the fever on Friday, but now think that it may have already started on Thursday considering his unusually calm and tired demeanor that evening. After the fever increased on Friday night we took him to the urgent care Saturday morning, where they took his vitals as well as some blood for tests. The consensus is that he's having a viral infection, as the white blood cell count is normal.

We're following the doctor's advice and give him acetaminophen, which has been controlling the fever very well. Doing a bit of home-research we're thinking that he's having Roseola. As of Sunday afternoon his fever seems to have subsided, even without meds, and we're hoping that the rash will be gone shortly as well. He's still nor interested in eating solid foods, but at least he's getting enough fluids from the breast milk.
