Weekend Excitement - Indycar and Other

After several months of wait, the day (or weekend) finally arrived for some major excitement: Indycar racing at Sonoma.  What an awesome experience.  We were able to tag along with our friends who have been to many races and are long-time fans.

Anderson and his buddy Tanner (whose uncle is pit crew manager), were able to get very, very, very special access.  Hanging out in the garage area, polishing race car parts, and even sitting in the race car.  Just amazing!

And of course since we're so famous we also made it into the news (see photo #2).

The other excitement at 3:20am on Sunday was not planned.  A magnitude 6.0 earthquake in the northern San Francisco Bay area, and of course we were staying at a hotel for the race not too far from the epicenter.  Luckily we were safe.
