Very, Very Early Development

Wow! More than two weeks have now passed since Anderson's birth, and he's growing and developing so quickly.  Some early development highlights:

Day 9: Weighed in at just over his birth weight after losing ~9% of body weight right after birth.

Day 12: Umbilical cord stump fell off (ended up looking like a large raisin...  And no, we didn't save it as a keepsake).  We already gave him his first real bath, which he enjoyed very much after some initial apprehension.

Day 15: Weighed in at 3.80kg (8lbs 6oz), or roughly 11% over his birth weight.  He has also grown 3 inches in length since birth, now measuring 54.5cm (21.5 in).  3-month baby clothing now fit him perfectly.

On his daily tummy time he has already thrusted himself forward with his legs, and lifted his upper body and head.

Fortunately our baby boy has been sleeping pretty well since we've been home from the hospital (knock on wood!).  However, when he does become a bit fussy we've been able to successfully apply Dr. Harvey Karp's 5S techniques to calm him.  We've needed all of them so far, up to four at a time.  Thanks to Molly and Mark for introducing this to us.  We've become believers.
